Mrs. Amy Redar
Preschool Director

Ms. Amy joined our teaching staff in August 2016.  She transitioned to the role of director in May 2019.   Ms. Amy came to us with years and years of elementary teaching experience. She was a principal of a local Christian school for six years and helped that school develop a thriving preschool program.  She is a Bethel College graduate.  She loves books and reading aloud to children is one of her most favorite things to do at school.  Ms. Amy is thrilled to be able to lead weekly chapel time with all of the preschool classes. Helping our little ones grow their faith is the best part of her week.

Caterpillar Classroom

Ms. Bethany began working at Hively Avenue Preschool in 2020.  She teaches our mornings and afternoon 3’s/4's classes. She has many years of early childhood experience. She earned her early childhood certification from IUSB.  She is the mom to three children.  She is passionate about preschool and will help our littlest ones have a great start to their school career.  Her classroom is filled with lots of color, music, and many hands-on learning activities.

Ms. Hannah
Preschool Teaching Assistant

After interning in our building during her senior year of high school, Ms. Hannah transitioned into the role of teaching assistant in 2025.   She has just recently completed her early childhood certification. She is excited to help lay the foundational learning skills for future school success.  Ms. Hannah enjoys working with all of our students in the building.

Butterfly Classroom

Ms. Christi returned to our teaching team in 2026. She previously worked at Hively in the late 90's  Ms. Christi has over 20 years of teaching experience working with students of all ages. She earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Olivet Nazarene College. She loves spending time with her family. She is a mother of six children and grandmother to 12.  She enjoys creating a learning environment filled with STEM activities.  Her classsroom curriculum is focused on hands-on lessons that teach the concepts needed for a smooth transition into Kindergarten.
